Horoscope Aug. 31

MOON ALERT: We have the "all clear" today to do business (whether $10 or $10 million) and make important decisions. The moon is in Scorpio.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

You might be worried about money issues. Disputes about shared property or debt could look grim. Don't be down about this. The promise of a great vacation is still in the stars for you this year.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Relations with partners and close friends are difficult today. Fortunately, this downer is due to the position of the moon, and the moon moves very quickly. This irksome time won't even last the day. Grin and bear it.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

This is also a difficult day at work, especially dealing with supervisors and older coworkers. Don't expect too much from others. Co-operation will be slow. Fortunately, this difficult stretch is brief. Relax.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Romance is in the toilet today. Don't worry because this is a fleeting influence that does not even last the entire day. Similarly, children might be an increased responsibility, but hey, that goes with the territory. Easy does it.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

Family conversations are animated and yet, difficult today. It might be difficult to deal with an older family member or parent. Don't try to boss others around because this will only backfire. Don't make a big deal about anything, either. Wear water wings and stay away from the deep.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You might feel worried today because conversations with others are difficult, especially conversations with siblings and relatives. Remember: "Worry is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but gets you nowhere." Whatever problems you have today are brief. Fleeting. Be gone!

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Your finances are undergoing a squeeze play today. Perhaps because of recent spending, (in fact, highly likely), you feel concerned about cash flow and financial matters. Do not gnash your teeth in angst because by tomorrow you'll feel better. This is small potatoes. (French fries, actually.)

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

You feel irritable and concerned about something today, which is why others find you a bit difficult to deal with. Do not act hastily or say or do something you will later regret. The thing to know is that this difficult window of time is brief. Yes, you're annoyed and life is not easy. But you feel this way for just a matter of hours.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

It's a curious thing about your sign, because activity and optimism are survival issues for you. That's why today is challenging because for part of this day, you will feel discouraged and disgruntled. Don't let this get you down. This is simply a brief dark cloud passing on your horizon. Gone by tomorrow.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

It will be difficult dealing with a friend today or someone in a group situation. This person might oppose you or make things difficult for you. An older female could be your nemesis. Try not to react because by tomorrow, this is practically forgotten. Well, not really. Always forgive your enemies but remember their names.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is a dicey day to deal with female authority figures -- be warned. If you have a female boss or you are dealing with a parent, grandparent or any female in a position of authority -- wait until tomorrow to ask for permission or approval. Today is not the day.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Today you might be frustrated by someone, especially someone from another country or a different background. For starters, your travel plans could be challenged. Likewise, legal and medical matters are difficult. Oy vey. Go gently with patience.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

Actor Richard Gere (1949) shares your birthday. Although you can appear playful and fun loving, essentially you are serious. You are an idealist who wants to improve the lives of those around you, especially young people. You have strong social skills and people are attracted to your personality. As such, you are often influential. This year is the beginning of a fresh, exciting new cycle for you. Open any door!
