MOON ALERT Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 4:40 a.m. until 1:20 p.m. After that the moon moves from Cancer into Leo.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

So many old friends are back in your life again -- it's almost perplexing! However, you can welcome this opportunity to touch base with people from your past, because these are the people you have history with. People in authority look favourably upon you now. This bodes well for you.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

You will encounter old bosses (even if they're young) and authority figures from your past. This might lead to new contacts that could help you in the future. However, take note of the Moon Alert above regarding important decisions or commitments you make today. (Save yourself a headache.)

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

Delays in travel and matters related to publishing, medicine, the law and the media are likely now and for the next few weeks. However, these same areas might hold opportunities for you from previous contacts you made before. This also applies to higher education.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

You will have lots of opportunities now and in the next few weeks to clear up loose details about inheritances, taxes, debt, loans, bills and shared property. Take advantage of the celestial energy and do this. Meanwhile, before making important decisions today, check the Moon Alert above.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

Mercury retrograde will attract ex-partners back in your life again. These partners could be professional business partnerships or they could be ex-partners from personal relationships and marriages. It's possible that something can be worked out to your advantage later this year.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You will have to grin and bear it because Mercury retrograde will dog your steps at work this month. Expect delays, shortages, misplaced papers, lost items, confused communications, delays, cancelled appointments and staff shortages. However, it will be easy to finish old business.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Vacation plans might be delayed or cancelled this month. Ditto for certain social occasions including the arts or sports events. Parents will have an opportunity to revisit past issues (or problems) with their kids once again. Practice makes perfect.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Relatives you haven't seen for a while might be camped out on your doorstep this month because Mercury retrograde will force you to deal with past issues in the family. However, this is a great month to do home repairs and tackle what needs to be fixed.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

No doubt you have noticed delays and glitches regarding communications with others, especially siblings, as well as in your daily travels. Mercury retrograde will cause you to miss buses, have flat tires and engine problems, and suffer from delays. Plan accordingly.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Stay on top of your cash flow and financial scene because Mercury retrograde might cause errors now and in the next few weeks. Double-check everything. Make friends with your bank account. Accept the fact that there will be delays like late cheques in the mail and such.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

For the next few weeks, Mercury will be retrograde in your sign creating confused communications and making you misplace items or lose things. It will also attract old friends and ex-partners back into your life. Nevertheless, this can be a time of helpful retrospection.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

The next few weeks will offer you wonderful opportunities to do research as well as some self-analysis. You might give yourself a report card by thinking backwards about what you have done and not done. Hopefully, this will help you when you go forward. (Mercury retrograde can be annoying but it can also be beneficial.)

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

U.S. president Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) shares your birthday. You are versatile, multitalented and faithful to your beliefs and convictions. You listen to others, but you will also stick to your own views. Because you see many sides to a question, you are skilled at bringing people together, especially those in disagreement. You know how to build consensus. This year an important decision will arise. Choose wisely.
