Today's Horoscope
SATURDAY, FEB. 18
MOON ALERT We have the all clear today to shop and make important decisions. The moon is in Capricorn.
ARIES (March 21-April 19)
This is an almost perfect day to take a serious look at your hopes and dreams for the future. You can either go forward in life, willy-nilly, putting out fires and doing damage control. Or you can have a plan! What's it going to be? (Why not jot down some ideas?)
TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
Discussions with authority figures will be powerful and practical today. This is an excellent day to talk to bosses, parents and VIPs about your life direction in general. Is everybody on the same page? (Are they even reading the same book?)
GEMINI (May 21-June 20)
You can get a lot done today by making long-range plans about higher education, publishing, the media or anything to do with medicine and the law. Likewise, this is a good day to make future travel plans. You're in the zone.
CANCER (June 21-July 22)
Sit down and sort through red-tape details about taxes, debt, shared property, estates, insurance matters and inheritances. Yes, this is boring stuff but it matters. (Especially when the power or your phone gets cut off!) This is not just a dress rehearsal.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
You might get a lot done if you sit down with partners and close friends and strategize future plans. People are in a practical frame of mind and they are unusually concerned about the future, especially in practical, doable terms. (This is good.)
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Choose work that requires attention to detail today because your mind is beautifully focused. You won't overlook a thing. Furthermore, you have the mental endurance to keep going at routine tasks until they're done. (But think of how rewarding it will feel when they're done!)
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Parents and caregivers can discuss the care and education of children today, and in doing so, come up with practical solutions. In another vein (different arm) romance with someone older or more established might begin today. (Something different.)
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Listen to the advice of an older family member, possibly a parent, because you can benefit from the advice of those who are more experienced today. Our North American culture foolishly dismisses the advice of elders, whereas other cultures rarely do. (These kinds of observations have an increasing appeal to me as I get older.)
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Because your mind is highly disciplined today, choose mental work that requires concentration. You will carefully examine anything you do. You will also re-organize things beautifully today. Talk to others who are more experienced to get ideas.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
If shopping today, you will want to buy only practical items that last a long time because you feel frugal and conservative. This same attitude will be apparent in all your business dealings as well. You're like Jack Webb: "Just the facts, Ma'am." (No ostrich boas for you today!)
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This is an excellent day for any kind of work that requires discipline and self-control because that's exactly what you have! You'll feel a great sense of satisfaction by getting something done. You'll even enjoy indulging in a bit of self-denial, especially if you're into this sort of thing. ("No whips!")
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)
Research of any kind will go extremely well today because you are unusually persevering and mentally self-disciplined. (Impressive.) You won't give up until you find what you're looking for. Nothing will be too much trouble. (Sounds like you'll get a lot done!)
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY
Actor John Travolta (1954) shares your birthday. You are a seeker. You want to know the big answers to the big questions. You're also emotionally sensitive. You genuinely care about others. Given the opportunity, you will always help the underdog. You're never hasty, which is why you do your homework. (You believe in careful planning.) Grab any opportunity to study or learn something important this year. You won't regret it.
