Today's Horoscope

MOON ALERT Avoid shopping or making important decisions until 2 p.m. After that the moon moves from Taurus into Gemini.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

Although today begins in a challenging way, as it wears on, it gets better and better. First there seems to be flighty confusion and indecision. But later, you're excited to communicate your ideas to others.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

You might feel emotionally anxious this morning. Yes, it's Halloween. Did you buy candy to give out? Or are you going to hide in the basement with the lights out?

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

Although today has a fuzzy beginning, at midday, when the moon slips into your sign, you hit your stride. You'll be eager, enthusiastic and ready for fun and games! Your alter ego will want to dress up but will your other half agree? (Both sides have to get on board for this one.)

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

You might feel disoriented with the hullabaloo about Halloween today. Friends and groups might make demands. You're not sure what you're going to do. Well, you do feel social and ready to welcome people to your home. Invite someone over! Laugh it up!

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

Discussions with a female friend or acquaintance might encourage you to put on a mask and say "Boo!" After all, Leos are the most dramatic and theatrical sign in the zodiac! You're in the mood to shmooze and party even though your focus is on home and family. Enjoy!

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Certain aspects of your private life are going be public today, no question. (Whether you're behind a mask or not.) Be aware that you are noticed because you might want to be on your best behaviour. This is a public Halloween for you!

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

You feel restless. You want something to happen and you want it to be fun and adventurous. Well, your wish will likely come true. A ghost might knock on your door or you might find yourself walking down the street behind Little Red Riding Hood. It's an interesting day.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Most Scorpios like Halloween because it deals with hidden factors, skeletons, vampire blood, spiders and secrets. (This is your thing.) Naturally, each year has a different flavour, and this one is even more Gothic and more secretive than ever!

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

The best way to approach today is to be patient and co-operative with everyone. Be prepared to go more than halfway because essentially, the moon is dancing opposite your sign, which means you have to be responsive and available for others. You can do this.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You feel at loose ends today. You're not sure if you're coming or going. But you do know that you would like to be better organized, if at all possible. You want to feel like you're in better control of your life. (Who doesn't?)

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is a playful Halloween for Aquarians. (Each Halloween is different, according to the stars.) Enjoy fun times with children. Slap on a mask and be a kid again yourself. If you haven't got a mask, you can draw cat whiskers on your face. It's quick. It's easy. It works. (Meow.)

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

You'll enjoy staying at home today. But you're happy to have the gang over! You are always adventurous when it comes to Halloween because at this time of year, you want to expand your horizons and do something different. Plus you love costumes.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

Film director Peter Jackson (1961) shares your birthday. You're extremely observant; plus you have the mind of a sleuth. You are also a caring individual with a warrior-like mentality. You can slice through a lot of information to the essence of what is important. You will face enormous odds to achieve your dreams, even undergoing discomfort. Your year ahead is the beginning of an exciting new cycle. Open any door!
