MOON ALERT Caution: After 4 a.m. avoid shopping or making important decisions. The moon is in Gemini.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

This is a loosey-goosey day, plain and simple. Although it's a poor day to make important decisions or major purchases (definitely), it can be a fun-loving, lighthearted day. Allow extra time for everything because it's a bit like you're walking in quicksand. Expect delays and shortages.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

This is an extremely poor day to shop for anything other than food. Ironically, you will be tempted to buy unusual, exotic things! Save yourself the headache and resist this temptation. (See how you feel about making this purchase tomorrow.) Make friends with your bank account.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

This is a great day to party, shmooze and just goof off if you can. (The perfect day to play hooky from work.) Take a long lunch; enjoy the company of others. Make few demands on yourself today because your efficiency is not what it usually is. Just coast and have a good time.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Solitude in beautiful surroundings will appeal to you today. Essentially, this is the day to take it easy. Accept whatever happens, even in rush hour. If you go with the flow, you'll find this a pleasant day. If you try to do too much, you'll be frustrated.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

You'll enjoy shmoozing with others today, especially in group situations. People are in the mood to party and unexpected detours are likely. The trick is to remain calm, easy-going and flexible. (It's always the rigid tree that is the first to snap in a storm.)

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

In some way, certain personal details about your private life will probably be public today. Whatever happens will be beyond your control so you have to just accept this. Bosses, parents, teachers and authority figures will be aware of you, that's for sure.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

This is the perfect Friday to goof off and do something different. Avoid important decisions, especially related to legal and medical matters. You will definitely enjoy travel, especially if you're open to detours and discovering new and different things. Remember: Sight is a faculty; seeing is an art.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This is a poor day to make important decisions about inheritances, shared property, taxes and debt. Postpone these decisions for another day. Check your bank account. Make sure the posse isn't after you. (If you've been leading a dog's life, stay off the furniture.)

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Relations with others will be casual and a bit nebulous. However, you will enjoy shmoozing with others today. Avoid important agreements. Don't make commitments. Just enjoy the company of others. Get together with old friends and trade lies.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

It will be hard to be productive and efficient at work today, with one exception. If you work in a creative field, you might be full of wonderful, original ideas because it's easy to think outside of the box. Aside from that, just attend to business as usual. New ideas might look better than they are.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is a fun-loving, flirtatious day full of all kinds of social opportunities. Enjoy sports, romantic interludes, movies, parties and casual get-togethers. It's also a good day to delight in playful activities with children. Postpone important business-as-usual stuff.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

This is a good day to hang out at home because family discussions might be surprisingly frank. People are willing to reveal all kinds of secrets today. However, don't pin anyone to the wall and don't take anyone's word for anything.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

Musician k.d. lang (1961) shares your birthday. Many of you undergo great change and transformation in your lives. Whether you seek to or not, you often have influence over others. In your personal life or your vocation, you are often very focused on money, power and sex. In the year ahead, something you've been involved with for about nine years will diminish or end to make room for something new.
