MOON ALERT Avoid shopping or making important decisions until 4:40 p.m. After that the moon moves from Virgo to Libra.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

Your abundant energy might get you in trouble by overestimating something, or promising more than you can deliver, or getting into a fight with your boss or an authority figure. Even if you're tempted to throw your weight around, beware. Lighten up.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Because you're excited about something or enthused about the prospects of pending success, you might go overboard in making a financial estimate or pegging how much money you want to spend. Be careful. This is not a good day for important financial decisions no matter how confident you feel.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

You might feel enthused about getting support from others, and this is a good thing. But beware false confidence! You might dispute inheritances, shared property or debt issues and later regret it. Go gently.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Your ambition is heightened and with good reason. However, today is not a good day to throw your weight around. Avoid disputes with partners and close friends, which might easily arise. Be conciliatory. Avoid important decisions. Go with the flow.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

You are purposeful about achieving your dreams with travel plans or publishing, the media, medicine, higher education and the law. But before you jump on your trusty steed and do battle in these areas, make note this is a fuzzy day. Pull in your reins.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Check with the Moon Alert to make sure it's safe to make important decisions about shared property, taxes, debt and inheritances. Late in the day, you can trust your decision-making process. Caution against giving away the farm. Ya think?

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Late today, the moon is in your sign. However, before then everything is loosey-goosey. Furthermore, during this loosey-goosey period, you're more inclined to agree to something or promise something you will later regret. (You know what a people pleaser you are.) Don't do it.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Take things easy at work. Don't volunteer for anything. Check with the Moon Alert before making important decisions because you will be dealing with groups of people today who will likely make demands on your time. Make things easy for yourself!

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

This is a wonderfully creative day for you and indeed others notice you more than usual. In fact, it's likely that personal details of your private life are public. Make sure you have the support, in terms of money or equipment, that you need. Don't overestimate things.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You've been strongly focused on family matters or renovations and redecorating projects at home, which is why today you want to escape and get away from all this. It's OK to take a breather, but remember your responsibilities. Don't fight with others at home about what you want. (This is a silly week to do that.)

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is a busy time because the pace of your days is accelerating. All the more reason to think twice before you make promises to others, especially about creative matters, vacations, sports and anything to do with children. Don't overestimate things. Yes, your sign rules the sky but keep your feet on the ground.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Be careful about financial matters because you want to do things -- perhaps make major expenditures or you have big ideas about how to promote your earnings. If this is the case, check with the Moon Alert to see when it's a good time to do so. Don't shoot yourself in the foot.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

Actor Leonard Nimoy (Dr. Spock) (1931) shares your birthday today. You are hard-working, responsible, and yet you have the innocent spontaneity of a child. Your approach to life is simple and modest. You get things done. You work at your own unhurried pace and are often very philosophical. Some consider you to be eccentric. Good news. Your year ahead might be one of the most powerful years of your life. Dream big!
