MOON ALERT Caution: Avoid shopping or making important decisions until 10:20 p.m. After that the moon moves from Scorpio into Sagittarius.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

A desire to do something different and strong escapist tendencies are within you. You want to blow this pop stand! You want adventure, thrills and a chance to learn something new. No more same old, same old. Visit interesting places you've never been before.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Because your focus is on red-tape matters concerning inheritances, debt, taxes, shared property and such, be aware of the Moon Alert. This is a poor day to make important decisions or major expenditures. Just stick to business as usual.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

Quite likely, you will have to compromise in some way or go more than halfway when dealing with others because the moon today is opposite your sign. In other words, you have no choice. Actually, this is not a big deal. Just be co-operative and friendly. (But don't agree to anything important.)

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

This might not be a particularly efficient and productive day. Expect shortages, delays and minor errors. (It's a Moon Alert day.) However, it's easy to think out-of-the-box so you might come up with some original solutions and ideas. (Don't shop for anything except food.)

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

This is a wonderfully creative day for you! Enjoy social activities, sports events, romantic flirtations, playful times with children and any chance to express your creative talents. (Which all Leos have in abundance.) However, read The Moon Alert regarding shopping.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

This is a great day to putter at home and do little things so you feel better organized. You'll also enjoy socializing or entertaining at home. You might have some creative ideas about how to approach a family situation or how to improve your home. (Read the Moon Alert above.)

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

This is a squirrelly day because things seem to be very loose and up in the air. You might feel indecisive and not sure what to do or where to go. It's better if you don't try to do too much and instead just go with the flow. Avoid important decisions and major purchases.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Be careful in all financial matters because this is a Moon Alert day. Don't spend money on major purchases, just personal food. Avoid big financial decisions. Instead focus on health concerns and getting better organized because this will make you feel good.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Just make this a laid-back, easy-going Saturday for yourself if you can. It's a goofy day and the moon is in your sign. Enjoy shmoozing with others. Enjoy sports events and social occasions plus playful times with children but avoid important decisions and major purchases.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You'll probably enjoy cocooning at home this weekend if you can. Although many of you will also enjoy entertaining at home, especially if you have something you want to show off. You've been focused on decorating projects and renovating lately; maybe it's time for the reveal?

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

A conversation with a female friend might be heartwarming and confidential. You feel relaxed and less formal about things and ready to share your hopes and dreams for the future with others. It's good to get their feedback in case it helps you.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

You should be aware that certain details of your private life might be public today, especially in the eyes of authority figures -- bosses, parents, teachers, VIPs and the police. You might have no control over this. This is just a gentle warning. (Yikes.)

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

Actor/comedian Robbie Coltrane (1950) shares your birthday. You are a visionary with driving energy. Many of you are multi-talented and can succeed in different careers. You are intense and demanding of yourself and others. Ideally, you need the freedom to pursue your own interests. You have high energy, which is often a lot for others to deal with. In your year ahead, an important choice will arise. Choose wisely.
