MOON ALERT Yikes! Avoid shopping or making important decisions until 8:15 p.m. After that the moon moves from Leo into Virgo.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

This is an exciting day. The tempo is fast plus all your encounters are interesting and stimulating. You're full of original ideas but you're also restless and impulsive. Nevertheless, you love the vibes because you can smell the excitement in the air.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Behind-the-scenes research can yield startling answers. Don't hesitate to dig deep. In addition, trust your intuition because it will help you find the motherlode more quickly. This is a particularly good day for solving scientific and technical problems.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

You'll enjoy hanging out with others, especially in groups. You might meet someone who is unusual or very different or you might suddenly be involved in a group that is so different it makes you stretch to keep pace. Whatever happens, it's exciting.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Conversations with bosses, parents, teachers and VIPs will hold some surprises. Someone might say something that makes you feel rebellious. (Don't quit your day job.) On the flipside (pun intended) be careful how you respond to authority figures. (Keep your bird in the hand.)

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

Travel opportunities might suddenly fall in your lap or, conversely, they might be cancelled or delayed. You might also have an unexpected chance to take a course or learn something new. Whatever happens, know that your window of opportunity is brief so you will have to act fast.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You might hear surprising news about bank accounts, shared property, debt, taxes and anything to do with the wealth and income of your partner. You might also benefit in some way by getting an unexpected gift or favour from someone. It's an interesting day; keep your pockets open.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

A close friend or your partner will definitely surprise you. They might want more space or more freedom or they might just have shocking news. Quite possibly, you are the one with the surprising news and perhaps you want more space. Can go either way.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Your work routine will be shaken up today due to computer crashes, power outages, fire drills or unexpected events. Co-workers might be surprising. You can also be short-staffed. Possibly somebody new appears on the scene. It's not a typical day, but it's stimulating!

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

This is an accident-prone day for your kids if you are a parent or you work with kids, so be extra vigilant. Make sure you know what they're up to at all times and remove them from hazardous situations. Romance will also hold a few surprises. Love at first sight is possible. Zing!

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Your home routine will hold some surprises, no question. Parents or a family member might say something that catches you off guard. Small appliances could break down, minor breakages could occur. A domestic argument might break out or surprising news might amaze you.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

You're full of original, bright ideas because your mind is racing a mile a minute. (Well, actually, that's slooooow.) New people and new places are fun distractions, however, be careful that they don't lead to an accident, because that is also possible.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Keep an eye on your money because you might find money or you might lose money. Similarly, a possession might be broken or stolen. However, you also could have genius-like money-making ideas. It's a curious day!

Actor Daniel Day-Lewis (1957) shares your birthday. You have the power to influence others. You can inspire, impel and motivate. You're a natural leader, however, you are private about your personal life. You are intuitive and like to fly by the seat of your pants. You have high standards for yourself and work hard to achieve them. You're an excellent problem-solver. In the year ahead, an important choice will arise. Choose wisely.
