MOON ALERT After 10:45 a.m., avoid shopping or making important decisions. The moon is in Taurus.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

This is a loosey-goosey day no doubt about it. For starters, we have the moon alert for most of the day, which means it's hard to nail down serious decisions. But in addition to this, home accidents, family quarrels, detours, surprises and goof-ups are classic. Oy vey.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

This is an accident-prone day for your sign so pay attention to everything you say and do. Allow extra time throughout the day so you have extra wiggle room to compensate because your plans will change or be disrupted. (For sure.) Think twice about all your actions.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

This is a poor day for important money decisions. Check with the moon alert before you start spending money. If you do buy anything, keep the receipts. Count your change. Keep track of cash flow and make friends with your bank account. Guard your possessions against loss or theft.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Your daily routine will be disrupted due to accidents, transportation breakdowns or a sudden change of plans. If you are doing anything important, allow lots of extra time because things could go wrong. Be careful in everything you say and do to avoid an accident.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

You feel restless. You are either waiting for something to happen or trying to make something happen. Whatever the case, relationships with others might be difficult, in part because your day will go sideways in a New York minute. Expect detours and delays. ("Duck!")

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Meetings, classes, conventions and conferences will not go as expected. Your relations with others will also be surprising. For example, you might meet someone who is a real character or bizarre, or someone you know might shock you. Your schedule will change and appointments and meetings will be cancelled.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Don't lose your temper when talking to authority figures even though you feel this way. And don't quit your day job. All relations with authority figures are unpredictable and even shocking. You might feel rebellious about what's going on. Stay chill.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Travel plans will change because of delays or cancellations. This same erratic policy will apply to publishing, the media, medicine, the law and anything to do with higher education. Make sure you know where your paperwork is. The day is full of surprises.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Check your bank account and make sure you are up on all the details regarding shared property or anything you own jointly with others. Something to do with inheritances, taxes, insurance matters and debt might catch you off guard. (Is the posse after you?)

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Be patient with others today, especially partners and close friends because arguments are likely. People will surprise you or vice versa. Someone might demand more space or freedom in the relationship. You might be caught off guard by unexpected news.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Your work routine will be interrupted by computer crashes, power outages, staff shortages, cancelled meetings and bizarre happenings. Just hang in there. (Remember, it's always darkest before it gets pitch black.) Think before you speak or mouth off to anyone.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Parents should be vigilant because this is an accident-prone day for your kids or children you work with. This is also a rocky day for romance. Lovers might quarrel or suddenly split up or change their plans. (Yikes!) Plans related to social activities or the arts can also go sideways. ("It's cancelled?")

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

Actor Tom Cruise (1962) shares your birthday. You champion causes that are important to you. You are philosophical and guarded, ever protective of your private life and loved ones. You're interested in all walks of life because society fascinates you. This is why you are constantly observant. You have self-discipline. In the year ahead, grab every opportunity to study or learn something valuable. Your rewards will soon follow.
