MOON ALERT Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 5 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. After that, the moon moves from Virgo into Libra.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

This morning is goofy and unreliable. Expect shortages and delays. However, later in the day, your most important relationships will be particularly significant. However, be open to compromise.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

This morning is a creative time for those of you in the arts. This is also a playful, flirtatious time. Later in the day, things will get back on track and feel more reliable and secure.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

Discussions with family members might be surprisingly frank this morning. You might catch someone off guard or vice versa. It's time to tell it like it is. Later in the day, you want to play, socialize and explore sports. Basically, it's Friday and you want to have fun!

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Things are haphazard. It's hard to rely on anything this morning. On the other hand, it's a creative time for writers and artists. Later in the day, things settle down and you know what you want.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

This morning is a poor time for financial decisions. It's also a poor time to shop for anything other than food. By the afternoon, you're ready to chat with everyone, socialize and take a short trip somewhere. Suddenly, it's go, go, go!

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

The day begins with the moon in your sign, but it is void-of-course. (That's astrologese meaning don't spend your money or make important decisions because everything is goofy.) Just enjoy yourself. Later, things are back on track.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Don't worry if productivity sucks this morning because it's a goofy, nebulous time. By this afternoon, the moon moves into your sign giving you a strong sense of direction and empowerment.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This morning is a great time to shmooze with others and chat with friends. However, don't volunteer for anything or agree to anything important. This afternoon, pull in a bit and seek out solitude.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Relations with authority figures are vague and confusing this morning. Therefore, don't agree to anything important or take on increased responsibilities. By this afternoon, you feel social.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

This morning things are vague and subject to misunderstandings, which is why this is a poor time to settle on important decisions with authority figures. You'll only regret it later or have to make changes.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Enjoy beautiful surroundings and seek out unusual places this morning because this will give you a lift. Later, you can expect to focus on red-tape details like insurance matters, inheritances, taxes and debt.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Although your attention is drawn to matters concerning inheritances and shared property and such, avoid important decisions this morning. Instead, focus on interactions with partners and close friends for the rest of the day.

Author Alice Sebold (1963) shares your birthday. You are patient and you can be faithful to your family. You enjoy beauty both in your surroundings and in your own presentation. By extension, you are drawn to romantic love. You are a great planner, even if things don't always unfold as you expect. This year an important decision will rise. Choose wisely.
