MOON ALERT Avoid shopping or making important decisions all day. Just keep things light. The moon is in Taurus.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

Be careful because we have a moon alert all day. Avoid major expenditures (except for food) and also avoid commitments or major decisions. However, this is a great day to shmooze with others, especially in groups. Friendships will flourish.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

We have a moon alert, and for you, the moon is at high noon, which means aspects of your private life will be on public display. You might also be involved with bosses and parents. Don't volunteer for anything. Agree to nothing important.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

This is classic day to run away and join the circus. You want adventure, freedom and excitement, but avoid important decisions and purchases. Enjoy exploring profound ideas with fascinating people. Travel if you can.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Be careful. The placement of the moon makes you intensely obsessed. You're focused on shared property and the wealth and belongings of others more than usual (even to the point of envy), but this is a poor day for important decisions or shopping, which means you have to chill out.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

Partnerships and close friendships are important, but don't react in a knee-jerk response to others, which is easy to do. Be aware of this impulse. Don't make important decisions. Just keep things light and keep the conversation flowing.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Because you want to get better organized and some of you want to explore crafts and hobbies, you might be tempted to shop for some support material. This is a poor day to do this. See the moon alert above. Just putter around at an easy pace. Make lists and plans on how to pull your act together.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

This is a wonderful day for doing anything creative or artistic. It's also great day to enjoy playful activities with children and to explore sports through practice or attending events or enjoying games. Basically, you want to have fun. Explore the arts, movies, the theatre and chances to party and shmooze.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

You feel private and if you have a chance, you will enjoy cocooning at home. You'll also appreciate the opportunity to hang out with female family members, or just enjoy your own company. It's moon alert day so you might feel indecisive and at loose ends. Do not shop for home items (except food).

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

This is a mentally busy day for you and you might be juggling decisions and lots of conversations with others (as well as errands). Unfortunately, it's a poor day to make decisions. So what to do? Just listen to everything around you and make the decision tomorrow. (No shopping today.)

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You are surveying your surroundings, both in terms of your possessions and your cash flow. You might want to clean, maintain or repair things. Do take note: This is a poor day to make financial decisions or spend money except for food. Just fill your databank.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

You might be more emotional than usual about things because the moon is in your sign. No biggie. However, since it is also moon alert day, resist the urge to tell people what to do or make appointments and set your armies marching. Wait until tomorrow to act.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

You'll enjoy hiding somewhere and playing it low-key even though many of you are gung-ho to work right now. Just let the parade go by. Don't go shopping and don't make important decisions. It's OK to focus on yourself. (Why not?)

Comedian/actress Amy Poehler (1971) shares your birthday. You have a lot of zest for life. You are generous, dynamic and enthusiastic. You're also hard-working and have the self-discipline to master a technique. You are courageous and frank. People should recognize you are high-spirited and need lots of freedom. This year you will work to build or construct something important to you. Soon your rewards will follow!
