Today's Horoscope

MOON ALERT Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 7:45 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. After that the moon moves from Scorpio into Sagittarius.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

Be patient with others, especially older friends and colleagues, because someone might be critical of how you handle bills, taxes and shared property. No one likes criticism, but the entire world feels discouraged. Buck up.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Conversations with parents, bosses and teachers might discourage you. No matter what you do, you can't please others. Don't say, "Why bother?" and throw in the towel (an old boxing term), instead, be diplomatic and tread carefully.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

There are discouraging, negative vibes in the air, however, it is possible to use this same energy to study assiduously. Your strong powers of concentration will help you focus on the task at hand. It's also good day to proof and edit work.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Although you might feel discouraged about shared property, bills and debt (join the club, we number millions), you can use the day's energy to plow through red-tape details. Just focus on matters at hand and don't let negative thinking overpower you. Slough off criticism from others.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

This is a poor day for important discussions with partners and close friends because people are critical and negative. Remember the movie Kelly's Heroes? Oddball implored others, "Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?" Exactly.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Although you might be a tad depressed or discouraged, your mind is focused and ready for work. Therefore, choose tasks that you've been avoiding or jobs that require patience and attention to detail. Upon completion, you will feel satisfied, possibly even smug.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Romantic partners are challenging. Likewise, relations with children are equally challenging. Don't get on their case in a heavy way. It serves no purpose other than to vent your own frustrations. Goethe was right when discussing training children, "Criticism does much, but encouragement does more."

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This is a poor day for serious discussions with parents or older relatives because older people are inclined to be critical. Knowing this ahead of time, why broach any topic? Postpone these discussions for another day. Wear water wings and stay away from the deep end.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Although you might fall prey to worry or react to the criticism of others, you actually have the right frame of mind to do work that requires attention to detail. You even have the patience to do boring, tedious work. Use this influence to get something done.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Your cash flow or money scene might look discouraging. Fear not: you are not alone. Millions feel this way. It's good to remind yourself that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it's not a train heading your way. Just grin and bear it.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

You might feel somewhat pessimistic. You might also feel critical of others. This is a sure guarantee to create a negative headspace for yourself and others. Avoid important discussions. Don't ask for any advice from older or more experienced people. Just try to keep your head down and your powder dry.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Use the day's energy to do serious research because you can be successful doing this. You have the endurance, patience and tenacity to stick with a boring task and not overlook details. You can plow through a lot by working on your own or behind the scenes.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

Actress/activist Mia Kirshner (1975) shares your birthday. You have a fine mind and many talents. People find you interesting to talk to because you are imaginative, observant and full of original ideas. Personally, you have high standards and ideals that you place upon yourself and others, which can lead to disappointment at times. The year ahead is particularly social and inviting. All your relationships will improve in a lovely way.
