MOON ALERT We have the all clear to do business and make important decisions. The moon is in Taurus.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

The day is full of exciting detours that will trigger spontaneous choices. You will change your mind quickly or do something unexpected. Whatever happens might catch you off guard, which is why late in the day you will shake your head and make some serious, practical plans.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

You feel restless. You have that feeling you're waiting for the other shoe to drop. (Let's hope it's the same size as the last one.) Get your ducks in a row because someone older or wiser might give you advice to help you with future goals.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

You might meet a real character or someone you already know might do or say something that amazes you. All your interactions with others, especially in groups, will be stimulating. However, discussions with your boss (or any authority figure) will be sensible and real.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Be careful talking to parents, bosses, teachers and VIPs because unpredictable things will occur. Their response to your request might surprise you. If you're unhappy, don't take it personally and don't quit your day job. (But you might start to plan for more freedom in the future.)

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

Travel plans will be cancelled, delayed or interrupted. Similarly, schedules with higher education, publishing, the media, medicine and the law will also suffer from glitches and sudden changes. Focus on details with shared property, inheritances and banking. Get stuff done.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Make friends with your bank account. Know what's happening regarding shared property, debt, taxes and anything you own jointly with others because a few surprises might await you. ("No money? But I still have cheques left!") Later, discussions with others are practical and someone might advise you.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Friends and partners are unpredictable. They might say or do something you least expect. Possibly, someone will demand more space or freedom in the relationship. Meanwhile, you will be productive at work doing routine, practical tasks. Ho hum.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Computer crashes, power outages, staff shortages, cancelled meetings and machinery breakdowns are just some reasons your work day will go sideways in a New York minute. Allow extra wiggle room to account for the unpredictable.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Parents and those of you who work with children should be vigilant with young people because this is an accident-prone day for them. Romance might hold a few surprises for some. It's a great day for working in the arts because you can think out-of-the-box.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Small appliances might break down or minor breakages could occur. You might run out of something because your domestic routine will have surprises. Fortunately, you're in a practical, resourceful frame of mind and can handle anything that comes your way.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is an accident-prone day for you. Slow down and take it easy. An accident does not have to happen unless you are distracted mentally, physically or emotionally. If shopping, you will buy practical, long-lasting items. Someone who is more experienced might have a financial tip for you.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Keep an eye on your finances. You might find money; you might lose money. Guard your possessions against loss or theft. Be aware of original, moneymaking ideas. Discussions with someone older or wiser will benefit you. Who knows? It never hurts to listen. (You don't have to reinvent the wheel.)

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

Singer/songwriter Marvin Gaye (1939-1984) shared your birthday. You are gentle, childlike and idealistic. People respect you because you are honest, sincere and hard-working. Your dreams are important to you, although you tend to see things in black and white terms. Family grounds you because you value family. This year you will work to build or construct something valuable for you. It's a testing year and a year of growth.
