MOON ALERT Not until 8:15 p.m. do we have the all clear to do business and make important decisions. At that time, the moon moves from Libra into Scorpio.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

This is a tricky day because your communication skills are fabulous, and yet, this is a moon alert day, which means it's a poor day to sign documents, negotiate or buy anything. Just get the skinny on whatever you want to know. Enjoy conversations with siblings.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Your focus is on money and financial matters. But take note: be careful in these areas because of the moon alert. For most of this day, it's a bad day for financial transactions and major purchases.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

Mercury in your sign is supercharged by fiery Mars. This gives you lots of intellectual energy to talk, teach, act or promote. People will listen to you! Unfortunately, it's a tricky day because of the moon alert (see above). Tread carefully.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Your research skills are excellent. You have the mind of a sleuth and energy to follow through on whatever you want to know. You will come up with answers, solutions and ideas. However, wait until tomorrow to act on them. (See moon alert.)

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

If you need to rally your troops or lead the pack it will be easy to do because you have force and conviction in your style of speech. People want you to be the leader you naturally are.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Your challenge is this: On one hand, you are convincing talking to people in authority. They will listen to you and be impressed. But on the other hand this is a poor day to commit to anything or make important decisions. (See moon alert.)

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

This is a wonderful day to study, research or write papers. In discussions about philosophy, religion and politics, you will thrive. Nevertheless, just shoot the breeze with others and collect information. Wait until tomorrow to commit to anything important.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

You might want to research data regarding inheritances, taxes and debt because you have the energy and interest to do this. However, silly errors and delays will create obstacles. Ultimately, this is a poor day to make important decisions. (See moon alert.)

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Conversations with others will be dynamic and vigorous. People are busy and keen to get things done. Don't let anyone force you or push you into making a decision because this is a poor day for this. Just collect information and act tomorrow.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You have lots of energy to work. You can get a lot done (despite some silly errors and delays). As much as possible, stick to your routine. Do not volunteer for anything new and do not act on fresh, new ideas. Keep it simple. (See moon alert above.)

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is a fantastic day for those who write, act, teach or work in creative professions. In fact, if you work in the entertainment world, the hospitality industry or professional sports, you're hot! The downside is: avoid important decisions. Just explore.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

This is a busy day with home repairs and discussions with family. You can get a lot done but don't go out on a limb. And don't buy anything other than food. Just deal with whatever is at hand. Wait until tomorrow to act on your clever, new ideas.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

Actress Malin Akerman (1978) shares your birthday. You are talented, humorous and ironic. You are also mischievous, especially because you love to debunk anything preciously hallowed. (You puncture sacred cows.) You are a natural leader because you speak eloquently and frankly. Your year ahead has many opportunities for growth; however, first clear off your debts and return your favours because it's important to do that this year.
