MOON ALERT Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 6:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. After that the moon moves from Gemini into Cancer.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

The new moon in Cancer is the best time all year to make resolutions about how to improve your home and your family relationships. Obviously, nothing is perfect. There is always room for improvement.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

When the new moon peaks you have the best chance all year to think how to improve your daily communications. Specifically, how can you improve relations with siblings, neighbours and relatives?

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

These next two days are perhaps the best times all year for you to think about your assets, earnings and cash flow in general. What can you do to improve your financial scene? Can you earn more money? Can you handle what you now earn in a better way?

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

The only new moon in your sign all year will occur. This is the perfect time to think how to improve your closest relationships. It's also an opportunity to take a realistic look in the mirror to see what you can do to improve your image -- appearances count.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

This is a good time to examine your inner world and spiritual values. What are the values that help you make decisions? It's been said kindness is the most important thing. The old axiom "what goes around, comes around" cannot be ignored.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

This is the best time all year to examine your friendships. What role do your friends play in your life? Are you a good friend to others? It's true if you want to have more friends, be friendly.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Tonight the new moon will occur at the top of your chart. This is the only time all year this happens. It means this is your chance to ponder your life direction in general and ask yourself if you're headed in the direction you want to go. Think about it.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Regardless of your age and education, to have an enriched life, you must always be growing and learning. What further training or learning can you get to make your life more exciting or perhaps improve your job? This new moon is the perfect time to think about this.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

At this time, you can benefit by taking a serious look at your debt scene and your responsibilities to others regarding shared property, insurance matters, inheritances and such. What can you do to clear up loose ends? What will make your life easier?

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Tonight's new moon is the only new moon all year that is opposite your sign. That means this is the perfect time to think about partnerships and close friendships. For any relationship to be successful, you must be as good to your partner as he or she is to you.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is the perfect time to think about what you can do to improve your health with respect to diet, hygiene and exercise. Yeah, yeah, we vaguely think about this all the time. However, the new moon tonight is the best time all year to make resolutions about this.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

All Pisces people will enjoy a vacation this year, plus a chance to explore the arts. Some will expand their families through birth or adoption. This is the only new moon all year that gives you an opportunity to plan a program for some serious fun. What is your heart's desire?

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

Actor Ian Tracey (1964) shares your birthday. You are a tower of strength to others. Your presence can be very physical. Many of you like physical activities or sports, and you are not easily intimidated. Nevertheless, your sensitivity and compassion can make you a haven of security to family and friends. Save your finances for the first half of this year. Stick with what you began about two years ago.
