Today's Horoscope

MOON ALERT Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. today. After that the moon moves from Scorpio into Sagittarius.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

Small appliances might break down today or minor breakages could occur, which means family members could have domestic arguments. Naturally, when things are frazzled at home and your daily routine is interrupted, it's tough to maintain your cool. But Captain America can.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

This is an accident-prone day for your sign; therefore, slow down and take it easy. Think before you speak because it's easy to blurt out something that you might later regret. Late in the day, ironically, you will discuss things in a clear, practical fashion.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

Keep an eye on your money today because influences with your cash flow and finances are unpredictable. You might find money; you might lose money. Ditto for your possessions. Watch what you own to prevent loss or theft. By evening, you see financial solutions.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

This is the kind of day where you feel restless and rebellious because you don't want anyone telling you what to do. When talking to others (especially authority figures) think before you speak. Ideally, wait until later in the day, when you will be calm and in control again.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

You're restless today. Actually, many feel impulsive and at loose ends today. You might meet unusual people or have to cancel a meeting or a trip. Don't worry because by evening, you will be productive doing research.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Meetings with others (or classes) might be cancelled or rescheduled today. You will likely encounter a real character today or someone you already know might surprise you by doing something unexpected. Late in the day, someone older will give you advice.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Tread carefully around authority figures today because things are explosive. Someone might do something shocking or yell at you. You might be tempted to quit your job or rebel against some authority. By evening, everything is calm, orderly and in place. Go figure.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Travel plans will be cancelled, rescheduled or delayed today almost certainly. (If not, you got off lucky.) Arguments about politics and religion are likely -- avoid controversial subjects if possible. By evening, you're eager to make plans and study. A complete about switch.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Stay on top of your financial scene today, especially with respect to banks, shared property, taxes, debt and inheritances. Big surprises are possible. Be sure you don't end up with egg on your face. Late in the day, someone might give you wise advice.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Upsets with partners and close friends are likely today. (Ouch.) Or possibly, you are stunned by something they say or do. In fact, some relationships might end. Nevertheless, by nightfall, people will get down to serious, practical discussions. Curious. Veni vidi velcro. We came. We saw. We stuck around.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Your work routine will be interrupted today due to computer crashes, power outages, fire drills, staff shortages or cancelled meetings. There is no way around this -- something will happen. However, be encouraged because by evening, everything settles down and in some cases things are back to normal.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Parents and people who work with children should be vigilant today because this is an accident-prone day for your kids. You might encounter rebellion, hissy fits and meltdowns. Romance is pretty rocky as well! Fortunately, things should calm down by the evening because of the stabilizing input of someone older.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY

Actor/musician Kevin Bacon (1958) shares your birthday. You are hard-working, down-to-earth and pragmatic. You have the skills to build an organization and run it. In addition, you are protective, which means your personality often becomes identified with your organization. Your year ahead will be a time of growth when you want to solidify your base. Work hard to build something. Do not make major changes -- not yet.
