New CBC show pairing collectors, buyers in town June 22

They will — provided that what you bring them is unique or valuable — show you the money.

The producers of CBC’s hit series Dragons’ Den are on a cross-country treasure hunt/audition tour for their latest project, Four Rooms, and they’ll stop in Winnipeg on Saturday, June 22 to invite locals with unique items or collections to sell to drop by and try to make a deal.

Four Rooms, which will debut on CBC in January, pairs sellers — folks looking to part with anything of value, from cherished family heirlooms to one-of-a-kind collections — with top buyers from across Canada, who will be stationed in four different rooms. If an item catches the producers’ interest, its lucky owner will be offered a chance to enter one of the rooms and engage in a round of hard-nosed negotiating with a prospective buyer.

The local Four Rooms audition takes place on June 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at CBC Manitoba (541 Portage Avenue). Interested sellers can download application forms at www.cbc.ca/fourrooms.
