Two Winnipeggers among those vying for The Bachelor's heart

WHEN Canada’s version of The Bachelor goes looking for love later this month, he’ll have at least two young women trying to convince him his heart belongs in Winnipeg.

Five more romance-seeking bachelorettes were introduced by Citytv on Wednesday, and the group includes a 29-year-old local named Amber, who is described in press materials as a strip-club server who "enjoys the thrill of adventure and has travelled extensively across Europe, Canada, the United States and the Middle East."

The Citytv release adds that Amber, who is very close to her parents, two sisters and three nieces, is a tomboy who "loves to go snowmobiling and rip around on her motorcycle," but also "loves to dress up, look good and go out dancing with her friends."

A previously announced fivesome of Bachelor Canada hopefuls included 23-year-old U of M student Laura F., whose interests include fitness and coupon collecting.

The Bachelor Canada premières Oct. 3 on Citytv.
