Winnipeg-raised actress nominated for Saturn Award

  • Print

Thanks to Falling Skies, Sarah Sanguin Carter’s star continues to rise.

For the second consecutive year, the Winnipeg product has been nominated for a Saturn Award by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for her work in the made-for-U.S.-cable series.

Carter, 33, co-stars with ER alumnus Noah Wyle in the TNT network drama (which airs on Super Channel and Space in Canada), which is set in a bleak futuristic world in which rebel bands fight for survival after Earth has been invaded by aliens.

Falling Skies received five nominations for this year’s Saturn Awards, including best series, best actor (Wyle), best supporting actress (Carter) and best guest star (Stephen Collins).

Only two other TV shows, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones, matched Falling Skies’ handful of nominations.
