Arrested Development to return with new season, movie
ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT cast
The Bluths are back! It has been confirmed that the entire original cast of Arrested Development (Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Jeffrey Tambor, David Cross, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi, Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat and Jessica Walter) will be returning for a new season on Netflix, followed by a movie.
Writer Dean Lorey shared the news on his blog this week, telling fans, "We're really doing this thing," adding that original series writers Mitch Hurwitz (also Arrested Development's creator) and Jim Vallely would be joining him to pen the new show and film.
Lorey refrains from spilling any more details, but assures everyone there are office and parking spaces and the season will premiere in 2013 on Netflix.
Bateman went on to confirm all of this on Twitter. "It's true," he tweeted. "We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early '13. VERY excited!" (Us too!)
Arrested Development originally aired on Fox from 2003 to 2006. It was cancelled after three seasons and movie rumours have circulated since.
