Glee episode to be Monteith tribute

  • Print

LOS ANGELES -- Glee plans a tribute episode to Canadian actor Cory Monteith.

Ryan Murphy, the show's executive producer, says the episode will address the death of Finn Hudson, the character played by Monteith in the hit series.

It will be the third episode of Glee's fifth season, which starts Sept. 26.

Murphy says the series will then go on hiatus while its direction is reassessed.

Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room eight days ago.

Tests show he died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol just three months after he did a stint in rehab.

Monteith, who was born in Calgary and raised in Victoria, was 31.
