TORONTO -- Martin Short fans should feel free to go completely mental -- the Hamilton-reared funnyman has been announced as the host of the Saturday Night Live Christmas show.
The Emmy-winning SCTV vet will host the sketch series for the third time on Dec. 15, according to a press release from NBC.
Paul McCartney will be the musical guest, stopping by the SNL stage for a fourth time.
The 62-year-old Short has earned credits in two animated films this year: Tim Burton's Frankenweenie and the box-office smash Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted.
He was also a cast member on SNL for the 1984-85 season.
