The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards

Neil Patrick Harris takes the stage at the Nokia Theatre to host the Emmys, which honour outstanding work in TV. The coveted Emmy statue recognizes achievement in acting, writing, directing and more. CBS/CTV, 7 p.m.

The Next Star

Carlos Bustamante hosts this season finale, which features a star-studded lineup of guest stars. The top six finalists in the competition -- including local favourite Paige Prescott -- perform their singles and their original group song before the Season 6 winner is announced. YTV, 9 p.m.

Battle of the Blades

Some of Canada's favourite athletes hit the ice for another season of figure skating competition. Kurt Browning and Ron MacLean co-host the series, in which accomplished figure skaters pair up with former NHL hockey players. CBC, 8 p.m.

Once Upon a Time

In anticipation of next week's season premiere, ABC reminds fans of what happened in the season finale with this broadcast. As the residents of Storybrooke prepare for the end, Greg and Tamara pull the trigger. ABC, 7 p.m.
