One of Canada's favourite comedians kicks off an hour of comedy in this season premiere. Known for his hilarious rants, Rick Mercer takes his cameras on the road to collect opinions from Canadians. Later, tune in for the season premiere of 22 Minutes. CBC, 8 p.m.
Convinced he knows who the arsonist is, Lt. Severide searches for proof to back up his suspicions in this new episode. Elsewhere, Mouch gets some campaign help from Isabella (guest star Mena Suvari). NBC/Global, 9 p.m.

Fifteen overweight participants set out to lose weight and adopt a healthy lifestyle with the help of trainers in this season premiere. This year's contestants include former American Idol winner Ruben Studdard and Olympic weight lifter Holley Mangold. NBC, 7 p.m.
