This new Doc Zone feature, produced by Winnipeg-based Merit Motion Pictures and written and directed by local filmmaker Andy Blicq, takes a hard look at the increasingly common phenomenon of academic cheating. Current estimates suggest that 75 per cent of university students cheated at some point during their high school years. See review on page 7.

Given the increased amount of climate-change discussion following the storm-related devastation along the U.S.'s northeast coastline, this new Ken Burns documentary series couldn't be more timely. The two-part, six-hour program examines the drought and dust storms of the 1930s, which Burns labels "the greatest man-made ecological disaster in American history." A cautionary tale, perhaps?

The Phantoms

Sunday, Nov. 18

at 8 p.m., CBC

This new fact-based TV movie follows the inspiring story of the Bathurst High School Phantoms, who won the 2009 New Brunswick provincial boys basketball championship just one year after a terrible road accident that took the lives of seven players and the coach's wife.
