Walters tries to make peace between duelling divas

NEW YORK -- Barbara Walters is trying to get to the bottom of the Mariah Carey-Nicki Minaj feud.

Walters tells The View she talked to Carey before yesterday's edition of The View. She says Carey told her Minaj left the American Idol set Tuesday and several people heard Minaj say if she had a gun she'd shoot Carey. She says Minaj told Carey, "I love you, but we might fight again," and Carey responded, "No, we will not."

Walters says Carey hired extra security and she "doesn't feel comfortable emotionally."

Walters invited Minaj on the show and Minaj tweets she will not talk to Walters because she stands on her own two feet.
