British comedian and actor Russell Brand is no messiah, but he’s bringing his Messiah Complex tour to the Burton Cummings Theatre Sunday, Aug. 25.
Brand is known for his film roles in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek and was a voice in Despicable Me as well as his brief marriage to Katy Perry.
Brand’s first-ever world standup tour, which includes 38 dates in North American and Europe, promises to be a "dissection of various social and religious figures and the reality of their lives through comparisons of each other," according to a publicist’s release.
"Plus there’s sex. Obviously," the release continues.
Tickets, which will sell for $49.50, $64.50, $74.50 plus service charges, will be available Tuesday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster and UnionEvents.com.
