Some of Winnipeg’s and Canada’s heavy hitters in Hollywood will gather Thursday night in a posh Beverly Hills hotel for a benefit for the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
Winnipeg-born comedian/director David Steinberg is co-hosting the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel event with Canadian actress Catherine O’Hara and Kweku Mandela, the grandson of former South African president Nelson Mandela.
Singer Burton Cummings is one of the special guest performers for the invitation-only event.
Among those expected to attend are actress Nia Vardalos, Irish actor Colin Farrell and museum architect Antoine Predock.
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is scheduled to open on Sept. 20.
