Jim Gaffigan will perform at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre on Nov. 15.

Comedian, actor, author and self-described fat dad Jim Gaffigan is bringing his comedy act to Winnipeg, making his first-ever appearance on a local stage on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre.

Gaffigan, 48, is best known for his self-deprecating humour (laziness and overeating are two of his favourite topics) and his appearances in such TV shows as Welcome to New York, Flight of the Conchords and Portlandia.

His 2013 memoir Dad is Fat remained on the New York Times bestseller list for more than three months; his second book, Food: A Love Story will be released this fall.

Tickets for Gaffigan’s The White Bread Tour are $44.50 and $54.50, on sale Friday at Ticketmaster.
