Peek into private gardens on WSO tour

  • Print

Have you ever wanted to snoop in the gardens of the city’s most talented green thumbs? Here’s your chance to do so -- while supporting the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.

The WSO’s fifth annual Garden Magic and Music events allow the public a glimpse into spectacular private Winnipeg gardens chosen by Manitoba Gardener Living Magazine.

The Garden Magic Day Tour, which takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is a self-guided tour of 11 different gardens. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet the artists responsible for the horticultural handiwork. (Rain date is June 23.)

The Music and Magic Garden Soiree, on June 23 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., takes visitors through three garden paradises to enjoy culinary delights, a silent auction, and live performances by WSO musicians. The three-course dining experience is courtesy of Hermanos Restaurant & Wine Bar, Hospitality Concepts and Ian Leatt.

Passes for the day tour are $35 each. Garden soiree tickets are $135 each or $230 per couple and includes access to the day tour. Both are available at the WSO box office, 949-3999 or www.wso.ca.
