Silver City bringing Britain's National Theatre to big screen

This fall, seeing a performance by Britain’s National Theatre company could be as simple as a trip to the local movieplex.

Cineplex announced this week that three events in the National Theatre Live series will be shown in Canadian movie theatres — Simon Stephens’ The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, based on the bestselling novel by Mark Haddon (Sept. 6), Stephen Beresford’s The Last of the Haussmans (Oct. 11), and Shakespeare’s Timon of Athens (Nov. 1).

Winnipeg showings will take place at Silver City Polo Park. Tickets are $22.50, $20 for seniors and $14.50 for children, available at the Silver City Polo Park box office or at www.cineplex.com/events
