Tory MPs to make several appearances Friday

The dust won’t yet have settled from today’s budget, but Winnipeg will be crawling with Tory MPs handing out money Friday.

Vic Toews will be at Prairie Theatre Exchange, Joy Smith at Garden City Community Centre, and Steven Fletcher at St. James Centennial Pool.

A federal advisory today says Toews, Manitoba’s senior MP in the Harper government, is making the appearance on behalf of Canadian Heritage Minister James Moore to announce federal support for the arts.

Toews will also speak at a breakfast hosted by the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce Friday morning at the Radisson hotel downtown.

At 1:30 p.m., Joy Smith, another Tory MP, for Kildonan-St. Paul, will make a announcement that promises the Harper governments support for community infrastructure. That’s happening at the Garden City Community Centre, 725 Kingsbury Avenue. Smith is appearing for Lynne Yelish, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification.

We’ll let you know if we hear about any more.
