The Winnipeg Art Gallery will host a street party on Labour Day Monday to mark the final day of its 100 Masters: Only in Canada exhibition.
The gallery will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to see the exhibition, which includes paintings and sculptures by a who’s who of the art world for the past several centuries. Outside the gallery, there will be live music, chalk artists and food vendors congregating to celebrate the gallery’s 100th anniversary.
More than 52,000 people have visited the exhibition since it opened in May and it has been the highest attended exhibition in the gallery’s history, WAG director Stephen Borys said in a release Wednesday.
The gallery’s hours were extended during the exhibition’s final week, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
