Cercle Molière artistic director Roland Mahé resigns after 44 years
Roland Mah
CERCLE Molière artistic director Roland Mahé has resigned, ending a 44-year run at the helm of Canada's oldest continually running theatre company.
Yesterday's announcement, which was not unexpected, was made in a three-paragraph email.
"Roland has overseen the growth of this company from a small group of amateurs to an established professional theatre," stated board chairman Paul McKenna. "He has involved so many people over the years that Le Cercle Molière has grown into a huge theatrical family; it is now a very wide circle indeed."
Mahé will finish the season and his successor will start in August.
