He is, in fact, the Butt of the jokes

  • Print

WHEN you're a movie star, you don't have to do standup-comedy tours. But when you're almost a movie star, well...

Hugely popular Canadian comedian, actor and writer Brent Butt is taking his act across Canada early next year, and his Almost a Movie Star tour hits Winnipeg on Feb. 28 at the Burton Cummings Theatre.

Butt, a Saskatchewan native who was a regular performer at Rumor's Comedy Club during the '90s, rose to the top of Canadian-TV stardom when the series he created, Corner Gas, became this country's most successful sitcom ever. He recently completed production on his first feature film, NO CLUE, which is scheduled for nationwide release on March 7.

Tickets for the Almost a Movie Star tour are $46.75, on sale Friday at Ticketmaster.
