Late show added to Jim Gaffigan's local gig

The fat dad is drawing a big crowd.

In response to brisk early ticket sales, a second show has been added to comedian Jim Gaffigan's appearance at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre on Nov. 15. Gaffigan's current 50-city venture, dubbed The White Bread Tour, will now include two Winnipeg performances, at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Gaffigan, 48, is best known for his self-deprecating humour (laziness and overeating are two of his favourite topics) and his appearances in such TV shows as Welcome to New York, Flight of the Conchords and Portlandia.

His 2013 memoir Dad is Fat remained on the New York Times bestseller list for more than three months; his second book, Food: A Love Story will be released this fall.

Tickets for both shows are $44.50 and $54.50 at Ticketmaster.
