The Buzz
ROB WILLIAMS / MUSIC
Listen, all y'all
Since he died of throat cancer on May 4, the tributes to the late Adam "MCA" Yauch of the Beastie Boys have been flowing online faster than his raps. One of the most unique/amusing is the re-creation of the Sabotage video by Portland filmmaker James Winter, with his kids and nephew playing the roles of the band/'70s cops, complete with a Connect Four scene and some play-structure action. Check it out at vimeo.com/42106181.

Said the bishop to the actress...
The occupation "actress" was once deemed to be on a par with "prostitute" and Megan Fox boldly reintroduces that connotation, playing herself in the opening minutes of The Dictator in a for-pay tryst with Sacha Baron Cohen's titular despot. Given the downward trajectory of Fox's post-Transformers career, it's a risky move, and we're betting she'll be eternally grateful that her more respected fellow thesp Edward Norton signed on to make the same joke at his own expense.
BRAD OSWALD / TV
Home-reno show gets makeover
There's nothing new about a TV show in which a property undergoes a redesign process and comes out looking fabulous -- but it's a bit unusual when it's the show itself that gets the benefit of a style makeover. HGTV's seasonally themed Summer Home has done just that, adding decorator/stylist Samantha Pynn as its new host, and the result is a series (Mondays on HGTV) that is fresh, friendlier and a whole lot more fun.
KEVIN PROKOSH / THEATRE
What Kind of Girl
New Girl star Zooey Deschanel will make her Broadway debut in the stage adaptation of Coal Miner's Daughter, which tells the story of Loretta Lynn's hardscrabble Kentucky childhood and her triumphant rise to first lady of country music. Lynn recently announced the casting, which might raise a few eyebrows -- can Deschanel conceal her natural dainty cuteness to get down and dirty as Lynn, who had four children before she was 18?
MORLEY WALKER / DOCUMENTARIES
Things are looking Up
It's not just death and taxes a person can count on. The next instalment of British filmmaker Michael Apted's landmark Up documentary series, 56 Up, premières on British TV this month in three one-hour blocks. The series has been following the lives of a group of Englishmen and -women of diverse class backgrounds, in seven-year intervals, since 1964, when they were seven years old. Although fewer changes occur in our lives as we age, it will be as fascinating as always to check in with them. North Americans will have a chance to see 56 Up this fall, probably on PBS, where it has traditionally aired.
