WINNIPEG'S Contemporary Dancers kicks off its 49th season Nov. 1 and 2 with The Prairie Dance Circuit, a group show featuring three new works by prairie artists.
Regina dancer Robin Poitras will be performing a new work choreographed by Winnipeg favourite Paul Andre-Fortier titled She. Johanna Bundon and Bee Pallomina, also from The Queen City, will premiere The Understory. "Rooted in the image of a sparse field in prairie winter and the transformative power of fire, this work explores the fine balance between isolation and interdependence," explains a press release.
Representing Manitoba will be a premiere by WCD artistic director Brent Lott called Entre Deux Mondes. This work is billed as a "cinematic exploration of loss, longing and our need for connection," with Kid Koala's Space Cadet providing the soundtrack and video by Winnipeg's jaymez.
Show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $15 for students and are available through Ticketmaster or the WCD ticket line at 204-452-0229.
