"My non-medical reading, mostly on airplanes and late nights, leans to historic fiction, mystery, and regular people dramas. Cool Water a novel by Canadian Dianne Warren was a most wonderful read -- a masterfully woven interplay of lives of ordinary prairie folk across generations. The Murdered House by Pierre Magnan is an award-winning French suspense novel (I confess I read the English translation) that takes you on a surprising journey in the post-First World War French countryside. It has a slow start but once you are into the story it is difficult to put down. I am looking forward to the new Alice Munro, Dear Life. It is such comfort and joy to experience the art of masterful fiction writing."
