Winnipeg home economist, founder of Fruit Share and author of the Prairie Fruit Cookbook

"I have two books on the go. The Boreal Herbal by Beverly Gray is an excellent resource for learning about local wild edibles and how to prepare them. I've made a few interesting teas and salves as a result. And at bed time, I'm reading The Help, Kathryn Stockett's thought-provoking novel about black maids and white housewives in 1960s Mississippi. It's a good read but it's also discomfiting. It makes me wonder what are we doing today that we'll look back on and wonder, "What were we thinking!?"
