"Currently on my nightstand is The Art of Making Dances by Doris Humphrey. Having studied dance for many years, I am only reading about choreography as a process for the first time. Writing about dance is difficult, since the activity is so physical and fleeting, but Humphrey (herself a notable choreographer and performer) elegantly breaks down composition into its key elements. For me, this book presents a new vocabulary for describing what makes movement magical."
