ENTRIES to the 2012 Winnipeg Free Press/Writers' Collective of Manitoba short fiction contests were nearly triple the number in previous years, Hilary Friesen, board president of The Writers' Collective, says in announcing the winners from the 158 entries received.
"This means more writers are putting pen to paper, telling their stories," says Friesen. "We're delighted to read and to celebrate them."
The awards will presented on Wednesday, 7 p.m., in the Carol Shields Auditorium of the Millennium Library.
