TORONTO -- Former media mogul Conrad Black will soon be coming to a television near you.

Black has reached a deal with ZoomerMedia for a weekly show that will discuss various issues, with live performances, an editorial segment called Talk Black and even cooking demonstrations.

The 60-minute show will begin airing across Canada on Vision TV in late spring.

It will be called "The Zoomer -- Television for Boomers With Zip" and is being touted as a weekly "take" on the world from the point of view of those aged 45 and over.

ZoomerMedia head Moses Znaimer calls Black one of the most learned men in the country and says he was the ideal candidate for the job.

Black served 37 months of a 42-month sentence in a Florida prison after he was convicted of fraud and obstruction of justice while he was head of media giant Hollinger International.

He returned to Canada last May on a one-year temporary residency permit.
