CBC's Stroumboulopoulos off to CNN for the summer

  • Print

TORONTO -- CBC-TV talk show host George Stroumboulopoulos is headed to CNN.

The public broadcaster has posted a story on its website saying Strombo will helm a weekly interview show this summer on the American all-news channel.

The 10-episode, hour-long series will air Fridays in prime time and shoot in Los Angeles in front of a live audience.

But that doesn't mean he's leaving CBC-TV's George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight.

CBC exec Kirstine Stewart says the host will return north of the border, tweeting: "Don't worry, Canada's best BF not going too far for too long."

The CNN series will reportedly feature in-depth interviews and musical performances.

In 2006, Stroumboulopoulos crossed the border to host the short-lived reality series The One: Making A Music Star on ABC.
