Brad still bad for Jenn

A breathless world awaits the news: when will Brad 'n' Angie finally tie the knot? And on the undercard, what about Jennifer Aniston and what's-his-name?

Poor Jenn. First Brad ditched her, now she's being overshadowed in the wedding-publicity game: Us magazine says Jenn and Justin Theroux are delaying their big day for fear of overlapping with -- and being overshadowed by -- the Brangelina nuptials.

"She does not want her day associated with them," Don't Usemyname told the mag. Officially, Jenn has delayed setting a date because of the pressure of work and of redecorating the home she and Theroux share.

AMANDA Seyfried has signed to accept a large amount of money in exchange for urging women to buy Givenchy perfumes. No dollar amount was mentioned.

Seyfried replaces Liv Tyler, who has been given the gate after 10 years in the gig.

But Seyfried's response, when Givenchy offered her the "brand ambassador" post, may have been somewhat lacking in the sophistication Givenchy thought it was buying. As she told WWD, her reaction to the offer was "(Bad word) yeah!"

She's 27.

It's just a drop in the flute

THINGS are getting ugly in France: the government is so desperate that it's auctioning off some of its wine reserve.

With Franßois Hollande's administration widely accused of being "champagne leftists," somebody decided to sell more than 1,000 bottles from the presidential cellars. Average expected price: $330 a bottle.

"These are wines that have figured at the presidential table for dinners or receptions," somebody at the auction house told Reuters.

France is trying to cut public spending by $80 billion over five years.

Hambourgeois helper

THERE may be more than meets the eye to the intimate dinner meeting of Jennifer Lawrence and actor Nicholas Hoult the other night.

You'll recall that they split around year-end. But the gossip mags say they seemed to be "flirtatious" and "on a date" at The Little Door -- a West Hollywood place that actually has a menu item called the "hambourgeois" for $15.

It turns out these two will soon start shooting a new X-Men movie. Us mag quoted somebody saying the two are talking just for the sake of the picture.

She's 22. He's 23.

Will won't do punishment

IT'S all about celebrity kids today:

Metro, the newspaper chain, asked Will Smith about his parenting style.

His answer will generate some controversy: "We don't do punishment. The way that we deal with our kids is, they are responsible for their lives. Our concept is, as young as possible, give them as much control over their lives as possible." Punishment, he said, "has a little too much of a negative quality."

His kids with Jada Pinkett Smith, you'll recall, are Jaden, 14, and Willow, 12.

This little piggy...

IRELAND Baldwin, daughter of Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin, has spoken out, via Tumblr, about that time her father denounced her as a "thoughtless little pig" when she was 11.

Ireland, starting a modelling career at 17, issued a more-in-pity-than-in-anger reply to various people who are calling her too fat to model, not as pretty as her mother, etc.

Then she added this: "Just like almost all of you, my dad has made some mistakes in the past. He has spoken out of place, he has let his temper get the best of him, and he has reacted towards things in ways he shouldn't have."

But he "has moved on... He is now healthy, happily married... He moved on, so why can't you?"

Hey: Thoughtless Little Pig would be a good name for a rock band.

Have you Heard?

JOHNNY Depp and starlet Amber Heard have surfaced as a couple, after months of rumours. They starred together - well, you know, he starred and she starletted - in that movie nobody saw last year, The Rum Diary.

She's 27. He's 49.

Knightley's big day

KEIRA Knightley and James Righton will marry this weekend in the south of France, says the Daily Mirror. They own a $3-million home there.

The planning, the paper said, was "massively covert." About 100 guests will attend.

Righton plays keyboards for the Klaxons. They met in 2011 and got engaged last year. She's 28.

Martinis De Niro style

MAKING a martini for Robert De Niro? Here's how to do it right, as per the N.Y. Post's reporting of a document distributed to bartenders at a Tribeca Film Festival party the other day:

"Bob likes gin martinis... we'll need gin, cucumbers and... chilled stemmed martini glasses. Muddle a cucumber in the shaker and then mix with ice and gin... then SHAKE like crazy, an extra 30-45 seconds past the way they teach you in bartending school, so that little frothy chips form. No vermouth necessary."

Oh, and "don't fill the glass all the way, only 2/3s at most so he doesn't spill or it doesn't get warm in his hand."

And vodka helps a lot

IN a just-published interview done before her recent drunk-passengering arrest, Reese Witherspoon says women need to be confident to succeed.

"As women," she told Red magazine, "we shrug and smile and say, 'Oh... me?' Because it makes it socially acceptable for us to be successful. But there is a balance between being an arrogant jerk and being someone who is proud of their accomplishments. We need to let successful women show off and support them."

She's 37.
