Justin Bieber 'wasn't happy' at Ashley Benson spoof video

Ashley Benson and James Franco upset Justin Bieber with their parody video.

The 23-year-old actress and her 'Spring Breakers' co-star sparked rumours they were dating after James posted online a raunchy spoof video to the pop star's track 'Boyfriend', in which he sported a blonde wig and baseball cap while Ashley danced around him in a hotel room.

Although the 'Oz The Great and Powerful' actor was quick to delete the clip, Justin - whose then-girlfriend Selena Gomez also stars in the film - saw the clip and was left disappointed at Ashley's behaviour, particularly as she was dating his good friend Ryan Good at the time.

Ashley revealed to the April edition of Seventeen magazine: "I haven't heard from Selena! People thought that I was being mean [in the spoof], but I was just doing what the girl did in the video. It wasn't a jab at her.

"But I heard from Justin. He wasn't happy. Justin is like my little brother since he and my ex are so close. Anytime you go through a break-up, the friends get defensive. But all is well in that area now."

Ashley enjoyed her darker role in 'Spring Breakers' - which follows a group of college girls who get caught up with a drug dealer during their spring break - and is "proud" of herself and her female co-stars, which also include Vanessa Hudgens, for breaking out of their previous Disney roles.

She continued: "We all came from a Disney background, and this was different from anything we've done. But we wanted to prove that we're not just girls who play happy parts.

"It was such a crazy experience and it was character-building. I'm so proud of all of us. I'm really, really excited for everybody to see it."
