Michelle Williams puts Matilda first

Michelle Williams' number one priority is her daughter.

The 32-year-old actress recently ended her relationship with Jason Segel but is determined not to dwell on the split because she needs to put seven-year-old Matilda - whose father is late actor Heath Ledger - first.

A source said: "She's sad things didn't work out but she's not going to sit at home and cry. Michelle's number one priority, something that will never change until the day she dies, is Matilda."

According to the insider, Michelle decided to end the relationship after realising Jason was still attached to Los Angeles and didn't want to commit completely to life in New York with the 'My Week with Marilyn' star and her little girl.

The insider added to People magazine: "Jason never got rid of his place in LA and Michelle's life with Matilda has always been in New York. While Jason made every effort to make them a priority, he still couldn't drop everything and leave his life and career in LA. Michelle couldn't move things forward unless he was in their lives 100 per cent."
