Nicole Scherzinger fights to stay grounded

Nicole Scherzinger thinks showbiz could "suck the life out of her".

The 'Boomerang' singer - who is in a relationship with Formula 1 ace Lewis Hamilton - admits being in the public eye is hard but feels she has a responsibility to herself to stay grounded.

She said: "It's hard, because they suck the life out of you in this industry, and they want everything, your music and your personal life.

"It's up to you to stay grounded and keep your close family, your friends, around you."

Nicole admitted both her and Lewis being in the spotlight makes their relationship even more difficult.

She said: "It's so hard. It makes it that much more difficult."

The former Pussycat Dolls star has learned not to trust many people as those who are willing to help are often equally quick to drop their support or try to "bring her down".

She added in an interview with Britain's Star magazine: "Yes, it's easy to believe the hype, but the same people that build you up can't wait to drop you and break you down.

"And that's why you have songs like 'Boomerang' that are all about resilience."
