Romance with Kanye 'took me by surprise,' Kim tells Oprah

NOBODY'S adding fur pillows to a gift registry just yet. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may be very publicly in love, but Kimmy K's not looking for marriage. Not yet, anyway -- but give the lady some time. Maybe 72 days or so.

The subject of marriage came up during the second part of Kardashian's interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired Sunday as part of Oprah's Next Chapter, and Kardashian denied that she and West were working on wedding plans.

"Is Kanye West your new fairy tale?" Oprah asked her.

Kardashian, perhaps unfamiliar with any stories about rappers and/or sex-tape stars in the Brothers Grimm's canon, did not reply with a yes or no response to O's query. She did, however, say this:

"We met almost a decade ago, we've known each other for a very long time, we've been friends for six or seven years," she told Oprah.

"I don't know why it took us so long to get together: I think we've always had an attraction to each other, but we've always been in other relationships or it wasn't the right timing.

"One day it just happened -- it took me by surprise."

And that thing that happened -- a romance that's been Instagrammed and Tweeted and reported from here to People magazine -- has definitely been good press for Kardashian. Still, she told Oprah she's not with West (entirely) for the publicity.

"It's your heart you're playing with," Kardashian said, denying any suggestion she's in it for the exposure. "I couldn't sacrifice my heart for a publicity stunt."

Kardashian's ex, Kris Humphries, might disagree with that statement. The NBA star was being deposed in Minnesota on Monday as part of the couple's divorce battle, TMZ reports. And while Humphries has made past claims about just how far Kimmy K will go for fame (days ago, he claimed her star-launching sex tape was engineered by her mom, claims a source close to the family denied to TMZ), he seems to take more interest in Kardashian's "very long" friendship with West than the average gossip-watcher.

According to Radar, Humphries' legal team is seeking information that would reveal when exactly West and Kardashian came together as "Kimye," so to speak. To do that, Radar reports that Team Humphries is looking to depose West's ex, Amber Rose -- the model who famously revealed how Kardashian broke up their romance. "Kim is one of the main reasons why me and Kanye are not together," Rose told Star in January.

West -- as well as Kardashian's ex-boyfriend, Reggie Bush -- are expected to be deposed in the coming days, Radar reports. Once all the depositions are through, Radar notes that a date for the couple's divorce trial will be scheduled.
