Jackson expected to shoot in city

LOCAL film production scuttlebutt has it that Samuel L. Jackson and Dominic Cooper may be headed to Winnipeg next month to shoot a legal thriller titled Reasonable Doubt. It's about a district attorney who becomes deeply involved in a hit-and-run case.

Jackson is best known for playing Nick Fury in the summer blockbuster The Avengers and the loquacious hitman Jules in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. Coincidentally, Cooper played Howard Stark, the father of Avenger/Iron Man Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) in Captain America, as well appearing in diverse films including Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, My Week with Marilyn and Mamma Mia!

Budgeted in the vicinity of $7 million, the film is scheduled to begin shooting Nov. 19, according to trade publications. The film was written by Peter Dowling (Flightplan) and will be directed by Peter Howitt (Sliding Doors, Johnny English).
